What Vegetables Should you Grow?

Growing your own vegetables has many benefits.  First of all, it’s a lot of fun.  If you love to get your hands dirty and garden, you’ll love growing vegetables.  Vegetables are very rewarding because they aren’t just nice to grow and look at, you can also eat them.  In turn, you save money.  The fewer tomatoes you buy, the less money you spend, and the same goes with every other fruit or vegetable you grow instead of buy.  You could even turn it into a business to make more money by selling your vegetables at a farmer’s market.

When you start vegetable gardening, what vegetables should you grow?  The answer to this question depends on where you live, how much space you have, what time of year it is, and how good you are at vegetable gardening.  Some vegetables can only be grown in certain areas of the country.  Some vegetables are very hard to grow correctly, such as on a small scale, while others are nearly foolproof.

The first step is to find out about your region.  What vegetables can you grow?  When should you start growing them?  Should you start from seeds in the ground or sprout them indoors?  What is the best soil for vegetable gardening?  When you figure this out, you should have many fruits and vegetables to start planting.  For example, tomatoes and strawberries are popular vegetation to grow in many areas of the country.

Once you know what kind of vegetables you would be able to grow, figure out which ones you want to grow.  Obviously you’re not going to grow zucchini if you nor nobody in your family will eat it.  Pick out your favorite fruits and vegetables and start with them.  Don’t overcrowd your garden.  Make sure that you have enough space for the amount of plants you are growing and that you grow enough of what you want.  Don’t grow 5 tomato plants if you rarely eat them and would rather have a few strawberry plants mixed in.
