There is nothing nicer, after taking a shower, than wrapping a nicely warmed towel around your body, especially during the cooler winter months. Fortunately this is not that difficult to accomplish these days. Towel radiators can not only help to keep your towels warm while you shower but they also double as bathroom heaters.
There are many different types of towel radiators, however typically they are smaller heaters that are attached to the bathroom wall. One typical style is the heater that has heated panels at the back and a towel rack projecting out from the panels. The side of the towel closest to the panels usually gets quite a bit warmer than the section of the towel facing away from the heater, thus the towel is not evenly heated on both sides. These are sometimes the more cheaper types of heater. While some work very well, others can tend to have a somewhat limited heating surface or can even have “hot spots” which can damage your towel if it is left hanging on the radiator for too long.
A more expensive unit should provide even heat all over the towel and should ideally come with a way to regulate the temperature. Flat panel towel heaters are a popular choice. These heated panels are attached to the wall, so they are very space saving which is important in a small sized bathroom. Towels can be hung directly over the panels, heating the towel all over. Some of these type of heaters are to be directly wired into the electricity while others are made to plug into an electrical socket. Round tube radiators are very similar, the tubes are heated and the towel hangs over the tubes.
Whatever type of towel radiators you end up purchasing, it is a good idea to ensure that it will heat your entire towel, not just parts of it, and that you are able to regulate the heat. It is also great if it is big enough to provide heating for your entire bathroom. While they may not be the best bathroom heater for a large bathroom, this should be possible for a smaller bathroom. You may find that you need to install additional heating, aside from the towel radiator, in a larger sized bathroom.
