A white bedroom fits perfectly within the modern and contemporary design styles. This is really very gender neutral so it’s perfect if you can’t reach a design decision with your spouse. Plus it allows you to work in any tile floors or stone furniture you might have. You won’t even have to choose colors because you’ll just be using the color white. It really allows you to focus in on textures as well as quality pieces.
Oftentimes this kind of design style uses items that we see everyday but it just has a very unique spin on it. For instance you could find a chandelier made out of faux deer antlers and it might be white. This is perfect if your husband has always wanted one of these pieces but it just wasn’t chic enough for you. This has a very sculptural element to it and can be a very rustic focal point in a room where you want to subtly showcase your Western heritage.
You can also have a lot of fun with different kinds of fabric. You could use a white patent leather on your headboard or just go with softer micro suede. In this kind of styles oftentimes the headboard will go all the way across the entire wall. Of course, this will use a lot of fabric. In this case you not want to use a pattern just because it will be difficult to match up all of the different squares. Plus, this can look a little bit disorganized. Instead, just stick with one fabric that you really love and repeat the squares all the way across the wall.
You could also really experiment with different tones of white paint on the same wall to mimic a headboard and add in those straight lines because a geometric element is so important for this kind of design style. You could use colors of white, cream and taupe to create a neutral color palette. Of course just keep this in one wall just so it doesn’t overwhelm your space and make things seem too busy.
