Constructing free standing scaffolding from the traditional pole and brackets system was an experienced task to undertake. In most instances the scaffolding was tied to the building and upon completing the building the ties would need to be removed; unfortunately where the ties went into the mortar they left a hole, and this had to be filled in and made good by some poor apprentice! There are not many instances where the traditional scaffolding would be used without it being tied to building and for this reason not many DIY’ers – who like trade users – would be willing to go to the effort of constructing scaffolding when they could just go up and down the ladder instead. Scaffolding tower kits have made tiresome tasks much more bearable and are now used much more often than stepladders for painting the outside of  houses or trimming large hedges.

You will find that many scaffold towers kits come with adjustable legs with casters on the bottom of them. The adjustable legs make it easy to construct a tower that is stable level regardless of how the land lies beneath it. The casters on the end of these legs make it very easy to wheel the tower along the length of the building or hedge that you’re trying to maintain.

Scaffolding kits coming numerous materials but are aluminium scaffold towers are definitely the most popular with DIY’ers. These aluminium towers are lightweight, strong, and don’t corrode easily making them perfect for the average DIYer that doesn’t want to spend a long time maintaining a steel scaffolding set.
