Many things come in all sizes and shapes, colors and patterns. Sometimes it is hard to put it all together, especially when you are trying to transform your house. Whether it is a round area rug or rectangular, how you decorate and arrange becomes the real key to a successful restoration process.
First take a look at your furniture or the colors in your room. Then find the focal point and make a list of what you would like to continue to use or discard. If you have the funds for an overhaul, then make the list longer. If you want to make simple changes, then consider modifying the paint color or adding a rug.
If the space you are altering has characteristics such as arched windows or a round coffee table, then a round area rugs may be just what you need. If it is rectangular or square, then choose accordingly. After you have decided the shape, then consider the size. Take measurements of your furniture and make sure the rug will extend out at least a foot from the couch or dining room table. If you want it to cover the entire room, size the rug accordingly so it fits the entire space.
Color and pattern are also key to bringing unity. Consider the color of the walls and identify the main color flowing throughout the room. If there are many patterns, then choose a rug that is simpler in design. If the furniture is more monotone, then let the artwork and rugs tell the story, bringing the whole space together.
So the next time you feel like making a change in your house, consider round area rugs or a new paint color. Maybe try a new wall hanging, but most of all, have fun helping the room tell a new story.
