There are now plenty of options on the market for you to choose from when it comes to getting some outdoor furniture for your garden or outdoor space. Plastic Outdoor Furniture
This is the cheapest furniture that money can buy; it will last for ever and requires no maintenance at all. Sound fantastic doesn’t it? The downside however is that a lot of the cheaper plastic products don’t actually look that nice unless you spend a lot of money on them and buy some comfortable cushions to hide some of that plastic!
Metal Outdoor Furniture
There is a vast range of metal outdoor furniture available and it comes as very standard fold out chairs made from galvanized steel right through to highly ornate art deco style fixed position chairs. Steel and aluminium based furniture can be very cheap – almost as cheap as the plastic furniture, but on the other hand it can be extremely expensive. Comfort can be issue with this metal furniture so you are well advised to try before you buy.
Wooden Outdoor Furniture
With pressure treated timber coming on to the market wooden outdoor furniture has become extremely popular. Prior to this hardwoods were used and it was extremely expensive. The pressure treated process allows you to use softwood outdoors and so pine patio furniture which has been pressure treated will cost 50% of teak patio furniture (teak is a hardwood). It has to be said that of all the materials wooden furniture has the highest cost associated to it, but it does look beautiful and natural. Make sure when you buy any wooden products that the timber has come from a sustainable source.
