Halogen heaters are an excellent source of heat when you need that added warmth in your home. Most of these heaters have an outside that seems to stay cool to the touch, except for the grill which does get hot, so you will not have to worry about your children or pets getting burned on them. With some of these heaters, you are able to get the heat much quicker than with some of the older styles of heaters.
Some of the advantages of these heaters are that they save energy because they use halogen bulbs. Also, many of these heaters have a safety feature that will turn them off if something happens to turn the heater over. This is a great feature if you have kids running around the house. Another advantage of this kind of heater is that you will easily be able to move them to a different room if you decide somewhere else needs to be heated quickly. They are very light and portable. This means that these little heaters also will not be taking up a lot of space in your home when they are not in use.
Some of the disadvantages of halogen heaters would be that the front of them do get hot. This can mean that the heater can burn things if something gets too close to this part of the heater, the rest of the heater stays cool. These heaters do not heat big rooms very easily, but you can put the heater near to where you are sitting and you will definitely feel the heat from it soon after turning it on.
If you are constantly cold in certain areas of your home, then an electric halogen heater would be a good idea for you to consider to get that added warmth.
