Many people say that you cannot go wrong with wooden blinds. They tend to give your house a stylish look and regardless of whether you choose to get faux wood blinds or blinds made with real wood. Providing you get the right shade that matches with your pre existing furniture, the blinds will be sure to enhance the rooms’ décor. So the question now is, do you buy the real wooden blinds, or the faux wooden blinds? To most people they look about the same, so it is not like one set of blinds will make the room look much better than the other set.
Not too surprisingly, real wooden blinds are a fair bit more expensive than the faux wooden blinds and they require a little more care, as you have to really watch out for moisture and humidity. Exposing real wooden blinds to any kind of humidity may cause them to warp so you would naturally not be able to hang real wooden blinds in your kitchen or bathroom windows. However, this is not a problem for faux wooden blinds. Faux wooden blinds are also cheaper than getting real wooden blinds, so that is another factor to consider.
As you cannot really tell the different between faux wooden blinds or the real thing at first glance, except by looking at the price tag when you go to buy them, you could even have some faux blinds and some real ones in the same room, as long as they are exactly the same color. For instance, you could have real wooden blinds for the larger windows (this has the advantage in that real wood is actually lighter than faux wood, so real wooden blinds are easier to pull up or down), and then have faux wooden blinds on the smaller windows in the same room. Either way, you cannot really go wrong with the ‘wood look’ and as many people who know all about blinds will tell you, it is just one of those styles that does not seem to go ‘out of style’ or become old fashioned.
