Engineered hardwood floors

Did you know that engineered hardwood floors are 100% real natural wood? Most people when they hear the name engineered hardwood flooring think of some sort of composite, or fo-wood. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. This is actually the one of the best options to go with when considering new flooring. Lets find out why.

This is not Laminate flooring. This is one of the things that I like to stress most about this product. Laminate is made of a wood pulp composite underneath a thin piece of paper made to look like wood, and glue. Engineered hardwood flooring is real wood flooring that consists of 2 different layers.

Layer 1 is made up of a solid strip of nice finish wood. And the nice thing about that is you can pick whatever kind of beautiful finish wood you desire. You can have the beautiful smell of Hickory, or the deep rich colors of Oak. Into the modern look? How about trying the Bamboo finish. Or if you’d rather the more classical style, you can go with elegant maple . No matter what your interior requires, or what you desire, engineered hardwood flooring has just what your looking for.

Layer 2 plainly put, is plywood. “Plywood?” you may ask. It’s not just the material, it is the way that it is used. Have you ever walked on someones laminate flooring? You will notice if you haven’t that it feels spongy and weak. This is a big difference than if you walk on an all-natural hardwood floor that has no give at all. This is the same feeling you will have when walking on engineered hardwood flooring. The plywood is laid cross-ways to the top layer of finish wood, going against the grain so to say. This gives engineered hardwood flooring its real strength.

So if you are looking for a more cost efficient hardwood floor without sacrificing any of the quality, engineered hardwood floors are for you. Only real question is, what style will YOU choose?
