Composite Decking Boards Are Safer On The Environment

Those who are trying to be more conscious of the environment will understand how important it is to recycle plastic and plastic products. One of the new ways to do this is to choose composite or plastic decking boards when building a new deck. Composite deck boards are inexpensive when compared to the cost of real wood boards for a deck. The one main advantage of composite deck boards is that they are made of recycled plastic waste. Trees are being destroyed to create the wood boards used for decks.

Another great advantage to the use of composite deck boards is that they are much easier to maintain. When using wood for a deck a clear coat or stain is required in order to protect the surface of the wood. With wood boards any spills need to be wiped up immediately because of the liquid sits on the boards for any period of time the wood board could begin to warp. With composite deck boards just wiping the plastic board down with warm water or with the water hose and the spill is gone without worry of warping boards.

Use of a composite deck board is also an advantage because it has a much longer lifespan than that of a pressure treated board. Pressure treated wood boards have a standard life expectancy of five to ten years and then they need to be replaced. The life expectancy of the wood board depends on the climate of the area where the deck is built. Use of plastic or composite decking boards will extend the durability and life of the deck. They are much easier to maintain that natural wood boards as well. Help mother nature out and protect the future of our children and their children, use plastic instead of wood for your next deck. You won’t regret it and the environment will be happier.
