Central Vacuum Bags – The Right Choice For you?

There are two main types of central vacuum systems, one that gathers the dirt in central vacuum bags and the other which collects the dirt in a canister.  Both systems work perfectly and it is a matter of personal choice as to which you might prefer, if you are considering purchasing a central vacuum system.  Here we will list some points that you might consider and which should help you decide which system is for you.

1. Do you suffer from dust allergies?

If you are sensitive to dust, then you may prefer to use the vacuum system that uses central vacuum bags.  This is because when the canister system needs to be emptied, you have to take the canister out of the base unit, carry it to your compost heap or trash receptacle and empty it.  There is bound to be  a certain amount of dust involved in this process, so you may prefer to simply take a bag full of dirt from the base unit, discard it in the trash and insert a new bag.

2. Do you consider vacuum bags to be outdated?

The Dyson bag less cleaners led the way, and many homeowners now consider any vacuum bags to be an outdated accessory.  This is not necessarily the case and many owners of central vac systems that use central vacuum bags are very happy with their systems.

3. Do you hate having to pay for vacuum bags?

Many people consider it an unnecessary expense to have to purchase vacuum bags, when they can have a canister system.  That is a good point, but central vacuum bags can be purchased online for about $18 for 5 bags and each of these bags can hold about 8 gallons of dirt. So if you do go for the bagged system, you will not have to change your  system bag too often.
