Is this anything other than a simple shed, you ask? No, of course not. But it is the simple and obvious solution to your storage problems, so for you it is something special. It can be anywhere from tiny to reasonable large, simple in appearance or rather full-featured with windows and such. But let us focus on the important features here; how the sheds work for storage.

Think about what you want to store. Is it large objects, like a lawnmower, wheelbarrow and other garden related stuff? Or is it smaller things that need to go on shelves to be well organized and easy to find when you need them? What I am actully getting at, is what sort of building material to look at. If you are considering steel sheds, think about how you are going to store things vertically. Can you put up shelves and hooks easily and without having screws protruding through the walls? Whenever you want to really customize the interior – put up shelves and such – wooden sheds are much easier to work with. You can put a nail in the wall (not possible with steel) and it won’t stick out on the outside. Whether you go for cedar sheds or timber sheds is of less importance. Both will work. Whatever you choose, do so with your actual storage needs in mind. That way you can’t go too wrong.

1) List: Everyone needs a list.  If you are telling yourself that you can remember all the different things to do for moving, you are just lying to yourself.  Make sure to create a list that will help you cover the following things: change postal address, call bank for address change, supplies  to buy at new location.  There are so many things that you need to cover, make it easy by keeping a simple note book in your back pocket with a quick refference to everything.

2) Boxes: obviously there are plenty of boxes for your move right? wrong! you need more.  Always make a guess of how many boxes you will need, then add 1/3 to it.  You will be amazed at how many boxes it takes to get your home packed up.  Take the time to box up all the loose ends.  By packing all the loose ends you will be able to fit more things into your moving vehicle and be able to stay much more organized.  We once helped a lady moving to San Diego, and she failed to use boxes for her clothes, she put them all in plastic bags thinking you could stuff them in the trailer better.  She couldn’t have been more wrong.  When the San Diego CA Movers came, they were so frustrated because it took way too much space.

3) Labels:  This might go inconjunction with #2.  Keep those boxes labeled with exactly what the contents inside each box are.  Your life when unpacking is near perfectness if you stay organized on the pack.
